Can a mobile app be weaponized & is TikTok one?
In 2020, after geopolitical dispute with China, the Indian Govenrnment announced a ban on TikTok. At that time it was one of the most used short content mobile application and in some ways responsible for building a creator economy in the country. While the pretext was the dispute, overtime it seems like the government had foreseen what most didn’t even consider. Off late the buzz around TikTok content & algorithm being a tool to dumb down a whole generation is gathering voices, and calls for ban in United States of America is getting stronger.

In July 2020, Microsoft announced that it would invest $1 billion in OpenAI, a research organization that aims to develop and promote friendly AI. The partnership was aimed to accelerate OpenAI's research in AI and technology to be used in Microsoft’s Azure platform and products, expected to help Microsoft become a leader in AI and also help OpenAI to expand its research and development capabilities.
Now, they have doubled down on this investment with a confirmation on the investment schedule of additional $10 Billion.
